Why was it rubbing in the first place? Was is a problem with the support for the hose?
My D3 had a coolant leak today, saw it under the car as I was returning to it, the warning; "Coolant level low" came up. I went straight to the dealer and the result was the EGR coolant hose was rubbing on the power steering pulley and will be replaced under warranty.

It appears that the hose was fitted too close to the pulley, all brackets seem to be in place, there isn't much room for bad fitment, maybe there should be a rethink on the way it is fitted. When I get it back I'll see if it needs some improvement.
Would you believe that there isn't a hose in Perth? Typical of lots of businesses these days............carry a minimum of stock.
