    It is what we would call door trim. I made my own for my series 3.

    Technically they are to the side of the main lights...

    Alpine lights? that a easy one, a man from land rover was sleeping in his Swiss cabin, and liked the look of the windows in the roof, thus he applied this to the land rover so you could look up and see the hills...

    The English just seem to invent everything!!!
