I only just realised that 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the advent of the SIIA Forward Control in 1963 (model announced in Sept 1962) when production commenced for the Rover Co 1963 production year and the arrival in Australia of a SIIA prototype for the Army 1963 trials. The first production Land Rover six cylinder (in the SIIA F/C) was later in 1963.
Are we going to do anything for it?

Hi Lotzalandies, I have aquired 30100053B ex SMHEA. saved from being crushed.
Wondered why i could see a faint SMA logo on both doors. (after a wash)

Is this one of the numbers you gave me before? Don't know how I missed it in the Grenville Books, have now started to extract a complete list.
Does it still have the little straps from the drive flange over the hub caps? Almost a diagnostic feature to identify SMHEA Landies.

The issue is that lots of these bodies were purpose built for function and not appearance. The question then becomes, do you retain the history or modify for post milennial aesthetics?
I'm not sure I know the answer.

I am over the moon, yes it does have the stub cap strips. The engine and transmission appears to match. Going down to my man cave after cutting grass and will do some putting back together some more bits i have in a pile. Still have rear of cab but the sod cut it out for access to that odd camper body. Will use other cab rear to replace it. Have a NOS one also but would need trimming out to fit over rear of engine etc.

SupporterHow common are these on none SMHEA landies as my series 1 88 has them but I do not believe it is a SMHEA landie.

Grenville Motors had an agency and workshops at the SMHEA stores and workshop area Polo Flat (Cooma) as well as Rover Co engineers spending time on site. So it is likely that the modifications designed for SMHEA Land Rovers may have also found their way onto non-SMHEA vehicles being serviced at Grenville's Cooma, particularly NSW Forestry and NSW Electricity vehicles.
Have we checked your stn wagon against the Grenville records? With the exception of missing pages, all SMHEA/SMHEC series 1 Landies should appear in the Grenville books.
