    2B bonnet catches

I have a mate with a 2B he keeps here. He is slowly getting it together but wants to know what the bonnet catches look like.
The Parts book does not show it, and they are different to my 2A.
The 2B bonnet just has two stud things fixed with one bolt each as if something with a hole just slips over them.
Pics would be good and dimensions so we can make them up.

I just did a Google search and found these.
It suggests the 2A & 2B were the same.

He does not have the bottom panel to see what the mounting holes are like.
If that metal catch was used we would expect to see some wear on top of the round button thing.

Thanks Wally. They are the same as my 2A. The bonnet part is held by 3 rivets.
On that pic I posted there is that button thing with only one fixing hole. No sign of any others being filled etc.
I wonder if my mates is an end of production vehicle and they had run out of the standard fixing and used something else instead.

It's a standard LR fitting for a leather strap to fit over. Holds Series seat backs or bases in place.

I found a few pictures but nothing was clear enough, best one was where a bolt was sticking out of the bonnet for the latch to hook over !
Have a look through the picture gallery below.

I think that might be it. That looks to be the same button thing its hooked over on the bonnet.
I found on the 900 club forum a photo with no fastener but the lower panel had the two holes in the same place as your photo.
Looks to be a rubber thingy which would explain why no wear on the top of the button

I reckon you have found it. Anything more you can tell us?

Here are pics from the 900 club. Holes are the same whereas the other 2A and 2B catches have 3 pop rivets in a triangle.

Hi Keith, the picture was in Land Rover World magazine Issue 49 March 1998. ($5.75)
    The description is just twaddle.
