FC 6 Cylinder Spotted outside Canberra

Spotted just outside Canberra - has been there about 7 years and is in great complete condition (for its age) - apparently it does run. The owner is a Canberra land rover enthusiast who has been asked a few times if it is for sale but apparently not.

Not as good looking as a 101FC but I can see how they could grow on you.

    Chaps,

Not so sure that the owner would be ecstatic about this sort of attention and publicity, especialy if he is unaware of it.......

Very original looking specimen apart from the B/Bar and that the rear fuel tank has been mounted on the LHS in between the wheels.

101 good looking ??????? the SIIB is a much nicer driving position, if you like driving a Defender or Series Land Rover you'll like the SIIB, unlike the 101 where you have to either cut off your left foot or have a left ankle that rotates to 90 degrees to get around the steering column when you get in!

We'll have to meet up one day so you can have a look at Gog, still need to do the brakes and re-set the rear springs before rego. But that is waiting till after Corowa.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

The 101 driving position is pretty good - but you are right about getting out and manoeuvring you left foot around the steering column - can be interesting - wearing boots with heel tabs works well as you can manoeuvre you foot with your hand. Wearing thongs normally means leaving the left one in the cab as you get out.

Not having an engine cover between the seats in the series 2 and it being a bit narrower does make the interior a bit more user friendly than the 101. The front vents are a real bonus.

I saw a black 90 next to where you work -is it yours??

I haven't been back to where the FC was parked - if it remains closed up it should still last OK.
