    Ticking noise

Just took the series 2a for a drive today, it has developed a loud ticking noise. I 'm thinking (hoping) that it is sucking air through the exhaust manifold. it did seem to be running a bit hotter than normal. I'll have a look in the next couple of days.

sucking air thru the inlet manifold or the carby base gasket is quite likely, run the engine and spray with wd 40 or inox, the leak will go quiet or change sound for a little bit, and you may be able to see where it is going.

if it is leaking from the exhaust gasket, make up a soapy mixture of water in a spray bottle and spray the exhaust while it is running, ot should show bubbles coming out where it is leaking

wd 40 or inox on the leaking exhaust may show smoke blowing, but the fan usually blows everything aft.

    oh, inc, love the green..
