The first two are in the "Workhorse of the World" book. Haven't seen the third though.
If you do you would know they post some great old pics from their archives. Hope you like them.

The first one also appears in the September issue of the Series 1 register magazine "The Full Grille" of which SLOw member LRO53 is the editor.
In the Magazine it shows Alex's theory on the Chassis no's as pictured R860001 through to R860010.
Food for thought and well researched

Has anyone got a scan of the pic of Churchill with cigar and his 80th birthday 86"?
The first pic is he original production line, 1948 with construction still going on the the RH row background. The first 3 in each row are finished, last 2 with bonnet up in LH row are getting last touches.
The second pic I have is actually from front on with no glare on the screen and you can see the driver sitting, leaning at 45+ degrees to his left it's a LHD 80"). The actual angle on the string would be 46 or 47deg.
I'll try to get scanning on the other pics I have and maybe even PDF the book if possible.
Some more

Does that now make me a twitter also ?
I do like the pictures and has anyone found a picture showing a different style Land Rover badge, I was shown a actual badge (back about 1969) that was on a very early 80" that looked like a folded ribbon style.
.
Wonder if UKE 80 is still around and the owner knows what it was?
