Period Grille Badges - And Other Works of Art

    Neil,

Ah, the excitement of the hunt! Godfrey is a good man. I look forward to viewing the kill.

The heat must be rife. Beer and more beer. One would have thought, that by the hour aft dining, the port might have been passed......Oh, and right to left, Royal Navy etiquette practised first en route to India I believe.

Might I leave you this morn with these fine badges of St. Christopher.....might he guide the Godfrey led charge with courage........

Perhaps this one once you move to the port....

And if the beer still beckons.....

PS - I would have thought, dear chap, that any Black Rhino in your environs would be anything but imaginary, let alone anything one might wish to attack! Please - don't let Godfrey lead you astray, good man. The mission shall be the AA badge!

    Dan,

    Hello from darkest Africa.

Well, the **** takes its toll. Beer, wine and a decent feed of topside (hell knows what species....). But, the scouts are out in South Harare and Chitungwiza seeking the elusive AA badge as we speak (or attempt to cohere). As said before, the natives are brimming with confidence of a successful hunt - bagged the black rhino on the weekend, so a badge off an old Anglia or Zephyr should be small beer on this safari.

    Hopes run high.

    Cheers,

    Neil

P.S. the Mad Bob failed to secure a hat trick - I got in................

Is that a genuine land rover badge in arabic?? or does it say something else?

I have a 1923 RAA badge, (cant find a photo of mine but...)

This is the badge... It is from the first years of the officially known RAA (before that was the AA of SA).

I have it on the grab handle of the 52...but it will move to anything earlier
    that is running....

there are some right crackers in this site that would be worth seeking out! (australian too)

I've got a Western Australian RAC badge too.....this one will go bottom LHS of my grill, King Edward in the middle, and Queen Elizabeth on the RHS. My Series 1 Club badge with "Matilda" engraved on it will go above them all....it is nice to have some Aussie stuff blocking the air....
