    i drilled a hole in the bottom plate and fitted a grease nipple, its a little exposed and has survived to date and i can grease it

    Ive done the same thing in the past....

    I cheat tho.. I braze a suitable nut to the face of the cup cover, then drill out and tap the hole for the grease nipple.

    when Im done greasing I pull the nipple out and wind in an allen headed grub screw.
