Question D1 black box under passenger seat

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help identify a little black box I have under my passenger seat of my 93 D1, it was there when I bought it 2nd hand.
it about the dimensions of a family block of cadbury chocolate but about 30mm thick.
it has what looks like a mini coaxil port and next to that what looks like a parallel port.
I think the other end of the coaxil ends up plugged into a little black box that is positioned in the top corner of passenger side of the windscreen.
the cable that plugs into the parallel look-alike port has what looks like an ethernet port on the other end.

my thoughts sofar is that it is either a nokia handsfree or related to a cb of sorts or something to do with the remains of electric breaks that were left in the car.

im wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me.

    Cheers,
    Jarrod

I believe some earlier Discos may have had an OBD under the passenger seat to read fault codes. Some one more knowledgable might be able to confirm this

Sounds like an early in-car phone kit. I have pulled out a couple. They have some seriously techy cabling, nothing like a modern phone kit.
