Gday all, well the old 3.5 Rangie has been running rough for long enough now, I think its time to try to fix it. It only runs rough at idle but other than that it runs fine. I thought maybe it could be the injectors may be leaking a bit. So my question is, can I fit commodore V6 injectors out of the 3.8 V6 into the 3.5 V8 and if so is it a straight swap over or do other mods/adjustments have to be made?

Not in a 3.5 unless you have 3.9 14CUX injection gear.
3.5 injectors are hosetops and run lower pressure than normal injectors.

Big Jon, I did ask it in the Range Rover section and yes you guys did give me some answers but I thought I would put it up in General also as alot of guys who dont have a Rangie probably wont look there but may have more info.
Thanks to all who have parted with wisdom for me.

G`day Shano ,
You know i`d think that the Lucas flapper is actually based on Bosch .
There are may cars that ran a similar system with a flapper .
A short list would be VK commodore , XE/F falcon , ke laser , at telstar , 323/626.mx6 mazda etc
Awhile ago i was looking at airflow meters and alot share the same bosch body as the 3.5 rover , the electronics are a bit different but the actual mechanicals are if not exactly the same very similar .
Anyhow to get to the injectors i think you`d find that there will be a bosch equivalent but you would need to use a hose clamp at each end and short fuel hoses in between because most of these the fuel rails push over Orings on the intake of the injectors .
The actual body of the injectors is the same other than the lucas type having a crimp over the pipe end to hold it on and the bosch type having an Oring .
If the hose needed replacing on a lucas type i doubt that replacing the whole injector would be considered over fitting a new hose and hose clamp .
There is enough room on the bosch type to fit a hose clamp and they only have the 1 needle/outlet .
I know this doesn`t answer your question but it does give an avenue to persue
Cheers

The simple answer is to get a 3.9 rail. I do not know what the 3.5 rail has for teh cold start injector so you may have to adlib.
I am not absolutely sure but I am comfortably sure that a 3.9 rail will bolt straight up to the inlet manifold and allow you to use Holden injectors. I am sure the injector holes in the manifold are in the same place ( or they would have had to change the head cutouts , and they didn't)
I am not sure about the regulator/inlet/outlet pipes bolting up but I think this will be OK also.
Holden injectors are 18.5Lbs per hour , and I think pretty similar to 3.5 injectors. Do not ry to use 3.9 injectors as they are 23.5 lbs per hour.
AFAIK the fuel rail pressure is the same at 2.5 bars between Holden/3.5 and 3.9. its only Thor which went to Higher pressures. So see if a specialist has a 3.9 rail and compare it.
Cold start may be the problem as the 14CUX ECU handles this while the Flapper has a mechanical system with timer and cold start injector.

One of my customers with the same problem reckons he will change the whole manifold if he has to, after all its just a gasket extra, and the manifold on its own has no great value without the fuel rails and injectors. So he will just buy the whole manifold complete from a wrecker.
so apart from cost are crummydore injecters any better? do they have more outlets? is it a finer spray? can I get more oomph out of them? or can ford one be fitted or or or?
