Where do I get a bottle of wiring harness smoke?
I have installed a relay and fixed the headlight switch burn problem
But how do I stop the copper sliding plates inside the indicator switch from wearing out and not making contact?
My indicator swith is on its way out. This will be the third stalk replacement.
The prince of darkness strikes again.
PS if you are handy you can pack the bottom plate up a mill. and get a bit more life out of it. Done that.

I converted mine to a Japanese cluster many years ago when the Father in law still used it. Off the top of my head, it was a Nissan Pulsar cluster, as they have quite a wide opening for the steering column, that most Jap clusters don't. It is quite a fidly job, and not something I would recommend to a wiring novice, but it is a very effective mod. It also puts the indicators & wipers on the same side as most other non European cars - If you get a cluster from a hatchback, it has all the back window wiper/washer controlls in it as well, as well as a spot to wire in intermittent wipers. Unfortunately the Father in Law took it to a "Specialist" who convinced him to part with big $$$ to put it all back to original condition, so now I have the vehicle permanantly, I have to do all this again!
Maybe sometime soon - when the weather is a bit kinder - before the prince strikes again. I'll post some pics when I'm done. I will be trolling the wreckers soon, so I will let you all know what I come up with.
Cheers - Gav.
