Mines a WA VIN and has the P shaped seals on the sill not the door. When I replaced them I had the same issue. Can't remember the part numbers now though as it was a few years ago.
for our upcoming trip I am making an attempt to keep out some dust and replace the door seals. We have a 98 WA build 110 Defender, the ones on the car are a P shape I have a new set of Bearmach P shape seals but I cant shut the door with these on and can't get genuine Land Rover
EPC shows a seal change from LA on and seals ARL 6250 for the front and ARL 6251 for the rear which I have got genuine, however these seals are nothing like the profile that are on the vehicle the new ones are an L shape.
Can someone who has a Defender between LA & WA please check and let me know what shape seals they have and if anyone has the L shape ones on their Defender let me know what year please
We've had the car since it was 9 months old so its unlikley that the seals were changed but certainly possible
the seals fit to the sill and not the door
thanks

managed to track down some seals bits and pieces from all over Aus as the seals are no longer available from Land Rover here or UK and are only available aftermarket from the likes of Bearmach which is where my problem started from!
shouldnt this be in the jokes thread........?
the only way to seal up a defender......is with expanding foam.......
silastic and no more gaps dont flow out of the tube in a thick enough bead......
but seriously.....if you cant find the genuine seals......have a look at other cars.....of different makes and see if you can find
the same type of seal......check also the boot seals......then just go to your nearest wrecker.......
they would have a wreck which wont be that old.....so the seals should still be in good nick......
