Thread: Injector question

I did a similar swap in my 88 RRC, except I used all of the 3.9 injection. I think it is the easiest way to go.

I am not sure what differences there are between 3.5 and 3.9 hotwire EFI systems. I know the 3.5 flapper is quite different.

G`day Steve , don`t know where you`ve read but the injectors are the same thing in a 3.5 and 3.9 discovery . Use the best ones you have they`ll all be the same .Cheers

They should have a green band on them.
You may have been misled by the recent posts re 3.5 vs 3.9 but this was about 3.5 Range Rovers with the old flapper system which have a completely different and smaller capacity injector.

You may have to get a 3.9 ECU for best results, as experience suggests that the settings may be different, however I really have no idea and I think you would find it very difficult to find out the actual differences.

Flow rates can be checked physically by taking then to have them cleaned on the flow cleaning system.

As you have twice as many as you need you will be able to pick the ones that are the closest to each other in flow rate and help your engine run smoother.
