Finally had a rush of blood this week and took the viscous transfer out of my 94 soft-dash Rangie- it had a seized VC and I've been driving it with the front propshaft removed for several months. I fitted the LT230 out of my 88 Rangie as it was recoed not too many kms before the car was retired.
The swap went without a hitch, especially with a donor vehicle on-hand.

I don't want to butcher the centre console of the Rangie as I want to be able to reverse the conversion. So, can anyone tell me what model of discovery I should be looking for that I can take the console cover from, i.e. an automatic Disco with LT230 with manual centre diff locking, so it will have the wider transfer shift boot?

And for those who are wondering- yes the transfer shifter works, the only thing that interferes with the necessary sideways movement is the woodgrain console top.
