td5 d2 air inlet temp sensor values

    Hi There,

Does anyone know if you have an outside temperature of 20 degs, and your nanocom is reading an inlet air temperature of 31 degs, would this still be correct, give or take a few degrees, and if not would this be a reason for more fuel consumption and so on.

    cheers

    Hi Bronson
The air inlet temp is the temp once the charged air has gone thru the turbo and intercooler.
The turbo creats massive heat under load, the intercoolers job is to cool that charge air before entering the engine. The cooler the intake charge, the denser the air, wich equals more oxygen, wich equals more power and economy.
Try a long steep hill and see how that air inlet temp increases.

    Thanks landy andy,

Sorry I was thinking that the air temperature was read from the sensor located in the air box. I wish I could find the reason to what I think is poor mileage, is it normal to get a whif of fumes say when pulling into the driveway????
Just did a long highway drive and got 700 kms sitting on 100/110kmh. can I do any better than this?
Seems that after I had the ecu redone, and new silicone intercoller hoses my fuel consumption has increased big time

    What would cause over fuelling?

    thanks
