For a coil sprung you'd be better off looking for a 110 County. The series were leaf sprung.
Another option would be to build one up. I have a coil sprung Series 3 Stage 1 but it has been built on a 100" Range Rover chassis which is coil sprung.
You might even consider putting in a Holden or Ford drive train and converting it to 2WD. (I doubt if you will be taking it off road.)
There's a guy near me who made a Rat Rot out of a mid1960's Mercedes 230S. It looks great. I've also seen at a recent car show a Volkswagon type 3 station wagon Rat Rod.

Things have been relatively quiet recently. The Guru's, Rivet Counters and Brains Trust might still be on holiday.

I seem to remember seeing this info somewhere recently. It might have been on another forum. It was in relation to a trailer I think. I'll post it up if I find it again.

5x6.5" is Rover pattern. I think offsets may have varied between rims and models.

I have long favoured the Chrysler LA small block. Comes in capacities of 273, 318, 340, 360 cubic inches. It is just slightly smaller and lighter than the other two, and has the usual full range of US after-market speed equipment available, as well as the Mopar range, plus Mopar crate engines that are really cheap horsepower.

To lower the vehicle you could have shorter springs made, have the existing springs reset shorter, or lift the spring towers up the chassis.

Ideally if you are building a 2wd rod type vehicle you'll ditch the front/ rear diffs and fit a ford 9" in the rear and something like a mitsubishi L300 front crossmember which has the same stud pattern as a the 9". Or a holden HR-HG front crossmember with HQ-WB rotors and a holden 10-12 bolt Salisbury rear diff for matching stud pattern. Then any V8 of choice can be slotted in, a 3.9 rover V8 out of a disco will fit easily along with an auto.
