Ideally if you are building a 2wd rod type vehicle you'll ditch the front/ rear diffs and fit a ford 9" in the rear and something like a mitsubishi L300 front crossmember which has the same stud pattern as a the 9". Or a holden HR-HG front crossmember with HQ-WB rotors and a holden 10-12 bolt Salisbury rear diff for matching stud pattern. Then any V8 of choice can be slotted in, a 3.9 rover V8 out of a disco will fit easily along with an auto.
