    Range rover roof onto discovery

does anyone know if a range rover roof will fit a discovery, how the discovery roof is removed or any other info. Yes i will have to modify the rear door but thats no stress. Are they about the same size? any info would be fantastic.

    Cheers, Drew

    ,
I haven't measured but I do not think I need to.
    NO

The disco is much slower backed than a RRC so the roof will be longer AFAIK.
I do not think the roof bolts on like a RRC.
The doors , front guards, etc yes . I have seen a photo of a Disco with a complete RRC front.
Of course with enough determination anything can fit. If you fitted RRC flanges then the shape of the roof should be the same at least to the back of the back doors and knowing Land Rover they probably used as many RRC bits as possible

I think it will be a close fit as even though the disco may be a bit shorter, the rrc has a raked rear tailgate which i believe would take up that extra length. They are essentially the same vehicle so i am sure it could be made to fit easily. disco rook is welded on i think and the rrc is only held on with self tappers at least up to 1985.

Are the rear seats in a Disco higher than in a RRC? Is that the reason for the hump in the roof?

Disco roof is definately welded on.

It will fit, just use lots of duct tape... it may not be pretty.

You'll have to cut the top off the disco back door, because the RR roof is basically in line with the gutter.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I don't think this is a problem for this car.
Pretty sure its a 2 seater anyway.

Which range rover owners want to measure theres???

I'd love to see this done. If it all works out, you can do mine

    Cheers

yeah thats right, two seats its a comp car being built i am going to do away with the roof no matter what. as it has airbags no engineer will have anything to do with ute cut which were original plans. i think with a bit of cutting and welding i could match it all up. The rear door will be simple to modify.

I have the rangie and disco side by side here and I think it could be done aside the rear door issue. Just may be a bit messy removing the disco roof first They are very similar in DNA otherwise
