Thread: steering wheel

My steering wheel is buggered and I need to replace it I have a excellent quality sports steering wheel but I was wondering if it is possible to fit a off of a newer disco (mine is a change over 94) with cruise control and the radio controls and retro fit both?

Can I get one like this without the air bag? Or would it be to much humbug and easier to fit a off the shelf cruise control?

You may wish to repost in the Disco channels for more specific data. Does your current steering wheel have an airbag fitted ? To my knowledge you cannot change an airbag equipped steering wheel for a non airbag sports wheel. ( I think in some states you can get an exemption with an engineers sign off. ......but you have to be able to prove you cannot hit the steering wheel under impact. Normally requires a rollcage, full harness belts, and maybe even a helmet. )
