    What products to use ?

    1. Glue-ing plastic

I'm going to put together my MUD console and have switch surrounds etc to put in place.
What's the best type of glue to use - plastic to plastic ?

    2. Thread lock stuff

My UHF aerial keeps "unwinding" (loosening off) from the base post. Presumably a product like loctite would be required to stop it moving BUT as there is metal to metal contact usually - which I presume is required for proper functioning of the antenna, any substance would need to be conductive.

    What should I use ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

If you want a good permanent fix then i use loctite 401 i think it is, clear liquid that will glue pretty much anything together.

Have you tried EPOXY. I hear superglue works well with plastic to plastic. Depends on the surface of the plastic I guess.

    I'd try EPOXY..

Any sort of loctite on the threads of the aerial should do the job. Don't worry about electrical conductivity, you won't be stopping the metal on metal contact, just filling the gaps.

As for the plastic to plastic, you need either a solvent for the particular plastic or heat weld the 2 together. I found model shops have good info for the different types.

As for the aerial, I would be reluctant to make this a permanent seal with a loktite product, unless you want to make it burglar resistant. Try some thread tape first, or even some blu tack on the base.

Loctite comes in a whole different bunch of grades, from stuff to hold small screws in place up to stud locker type stuff so there is no problems with it becoming permanantly fixed in place. The threads should still make contact too, as said.
