Dual transfercases
Hi All.
Has anyone ever seen or heard of someone running dual transfercases in a LR? dual lt230's or LT95 or combination of the 2?? Ive seen loads of information about dual cases with Jap gear but nothing about LR stuff and considering between me and my brother we had a heap of old unused bits i would like to know if its possible to make something up out of them.
Thanks!
Mick.

Because no landie transfer case has an inline rear output (all front & rear RH drop), I can't see how you can do it using 2 landie transfer cases.
I know someone on this forum is looking at doing a doubler using a modded nissan transfer case.
There is a thread on outerlimits where someone made a doubler for a toyota using a nissan t/case.
Some years ago Bill Larman made an overdrive splitter from a cut down LT95 gearbox (not the t/case section) - he already had an underdrive he made with parts from a Jeep quadratec transmission and a Fairy overdrive, so made the o/d splitter.
I have some info and the method he used might be modified to work as a doubler - I will have to have a look at the info and give it some thought.
From memory, Bill shortened the layshaft cluster so he had 2 gears left on it, cut down the gear case and modified the main shaft to suit. The lot was reversed so that it stepped up the gearing for overdrive, but if he hadn't reversed it then it would be an extra reduction.
