MAP sensor is on its way![]()
Thanks Rick...I had my big ends checked early last year when I had the timing belt done and apparently they were in immaculate condition...
be interesting to see next time I have them checked whether things have changed...
Would me having the fuel pump adjusted etc help possibly lower EGT?? or would I be expecting a rise?
I would love to get a 3" exhaust system however when i enquired about 2.5" before pulling out the centre muffler I was quoted 1800....I was like yep 80bux for the straight in and muffler out sound better![]()

More fuel = higher EGT's

FWIW a 3" mandrel bent system for a TD42T Patrol, including a cast iron 3" dump pipe off the turbo was $650 last time I enquired through MTQ (that was a few years back and may have been a trade price, but i thought list/retail ATT) or low enough to make me think twice about making my own when I already have enough 3" exhaust tubing and half the mandrel bends. (I bought extra when I made my Defender system)
The dump pipe was $250 on it's own.
$1800 is insane......
So how much 3'' piping do you have Rick?. Pat
3m Pat + one complete 90* bend and one cut in half.
There isn't a huge gain in overall performance, (slightly underwhelmed perhaps was I) but it does extend the useful rev range significantly and definitely helped spool up off idle, so the exercise was a useful gain overall and definitely worthwhile in concert with the other mods I've done.
Yep. It's all in the attached files.
Not exactly intuitive but once you've done it a few times it's easy. Just toggling between input (INTY) settings; k-type thermocouple or 0-5V (for MAP).
Before I bought mine I asked Auber if there were any issues with having both sensors connected at the same time. The response from the techs was that from their testing the EGT will read 4 degrees too low. I didn't see that as a problem at 600 degrees.

So you need to go right into the settings and change the input type.
I thought there may have been another way by pressing a single button or something that I was missing.
As well as EGT, did you happen to enquire about if two sensors would affect a RTD block temp sensor?
If I got a MAP sensor, I'd like to run it attached to the RTD monitor, then I could see EGT and Boost at once (I have two monitors).
