    Red face Discovery Clutch Problem

    Hi W,

I need help from you as saw our disco as our ico, please.
My Disco produce noise from clutch when the pedal in a half travel (I suspect the bush bearing), the pedal is also litle bit hard to push it down. Are they come from the same cause or they are separate ?
The other suspects are coming from slave cylinder and master cylinder.
If you ever have the same problem before or heard from other disco owner, can you please advise me the easy and cheapest way to solve them.

    Thank you.
    Ardy.

You might want to re-think having your full home address listed in your location detail for all to see......the world is full of nasty folks and opportunists

Ardy, it's hard to tell, but yes it seems like the thrust bearing causing the noise. How many Kms has the car done? And the slave cylinder might also be the cause of the hard to press down. If it's the Thrust then the gea box needs to be removed. A slave can be easily fitted.

    Hi Guru,

The disco has 272,800 kms as per today. It is disco2 td5 99 model. If the gearbox need to be removed, I would do it as I also want to check the flywheel condition (just can't imagine how expensive to get the job done).
I will try to find slave cyl in wrecker somewhere in nsw to get that one fixed first. If you have some information about where the cheapest place to remove and install gearbox, please advice me please.

    Cheers,
    Ardy.
