Six of the seven we had cracked the chassis behind the cab,Komatsu at Mt Thorley had ALL there field service Patrols crack the chassis after fitting workshop bodies,My defender has 428,000k's and I've changed the clutch and steering box,at 400,000K I changed the uni's and tie rod ends and injectors and two indicator stalks but fitted Drivesafes headlight kit so don't plain on changing any more,it spent a night bum end in a creek and that buggered one of the wheel bearings,a few globes have blown but thats about it.I did have trouble when it was new caused by dealer dickheads and I lost my brakes after it was serviced at Graeme Coopers,I almost forgot it needed the alternator replaced at Bischino in Tasmania,the rear bearing failed which is common.Since new it has had it's oil done at 10K,greased every second changed and all the fliuds,cooling system changed every year and it's been on a truck once after the dealer changed the timeing belt that flew off 10km's down the road.With the Patrols Nissan undercut Toyota to get into the mines and sold heaps of them,12 months later most were traded on cruisers and Hunter Valley Operations bought a dozen 130 Td5's that honestly gave very good service.We are way of thread here rovercare!!!.
