    Upgrading T-Max 9000lb winch

I currently have a T-Max 9000lb winch, brand new, in box, sitting in my garage. As I'm unsure which way I'm going with the Disco at the moment (to sell or not to sell) I won't be fitting it for at least a small while. I frequently read in magazines about owners 'upgrading' their winch internals to seal better against the elements and to drain more effectively. I figured as mine is sitting there doing nothing that now would be a good time to do so.

The thing is that I wouldn't have a clue about how to start going about this or who to contact to do the work for me. Has anyone done something similar to their T-Max or other brand winch? What exactly does this entail? Parts? I'm in SE Melb suburbs if this makes a difference.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

What about pulling the gearbox section off and replacing the factory grease with some quality marine grease for starters, Regards Frank.

I would install a breather pipe - some of the high end winches have these from the factory.
