    RRC Fuel system

On the week end, I had to replace a section of the fuel hose which had split at the fuel filter. In the process, I also replaced the original cartridge fuel filter with a replacable "generic" type.
This got me thinking (yeah, got hate that), and I have decided to replace the entire fuel line, as it is the original hard plastic tube type which is probably no longer safe.
I am considering using a rubber 5/16" 12 BAR rubber fuel hose. I think it should be OK, but any other suggestions would be most welcomed.
Also, I want to replace the Stromberg carbies with SU's. Is the manifold the same?

If the speed of light = 299,792,458 m/s, what is the speed of dark?

The hard plastic (nylon?) hose will probably outlast the pyramids. I wouldn't change it.

It has already split once, and given that the fuel line from the tank is the orginal hard plastic (read: 34 yo), it perhaps would be prudent to address it now rather that being caught in the middle of nowhere with a fuel leak....or worse.

Yup fair enough - Since it has split already its a wise idea to replace it.
Generic fuel tubing in the correct ID (internal diameter) is all you need cause you have carbies- can be had for a few dollars per meter from Repco/supercheap.
FYI- EFI fuel tubing is a lot more expensive per meter since it needs to handle alot higher fuel pressure.

What is wrong with the you current carbs?

Carbies are in need of a rebuild. I have decided to go for SUs as they are actually better suited for the Rover V8 - torque and power. They are also much simpler to tune too . Rover used Stombergs to meet emission requirements. Frankly, I find them a PITA.

manifold is the same but the linkages and adaptors for the air filter are different.
