    Hi Indie

    Welcome to the forum.

I looked at a rebuild on the TD5 and a new one was the go. My cousin is in Echuca at Murray Deisel Service and would be able to give you good advice on this.

    Plug Plug

    I'll PM you his number.

    Cheers

    Matt

An ebay rebuild kit will cost you under $100 delivered. They're not that hard to fit.
That's the cheapest option, from there it's up up up.

Any chance an engine oiling issue caused the turbo's death? How did you spend 6.5 on a tdi repair?

    Ouch.
Sounds like an oil line or gallery wasn't cleaned properly or the turbo oil feed primed before starting.

If you really feel like spending a few grand more, MTQ have a kit available that replaces the exhaust manifold and turbo with a Mitsubishi TDO4.
Claimed much better response down low and a bit more grunt overall.
