I have recently been searching for some Offenhauser midget parts to complete an engine with bits missing.

In the process I have been referred to various individuals and organisations and along the way found these sites.

Bill Smith Collection : Museum of American Speed : Speedway Motors Collection : Lincoln, NE

Museum of American Speed is said to have the largest and finest collection of motor racing engines on the planet. They have a swag of HAL engines. A mate has acquired a HAL DOHC engined pre WW2 Champ car from, of all places, Sydney. The car is virtually complete and was imported 26 years ago and has remained untouched since then. This is a v. rare all HAL engine, 210 cubic inches, not a HAL cylinder head conversion of stock blocks.

No joy yet on the Offy midget parts but Don Butler has offered me a big Offy, an Indianapolis engine, which he can build to either a 270 or 255 cubic inch spec. Tempting. Make an eye popper engine bay for a street rod.
