can be done with T4, not sure about nanocom, at least for the disco anyway. I didnt think the factory immobiliser was enabled on the deefers. Are you sure its not an aftermarket immobiliser?
Can I disable the immobiliser on my 02my td5 defender Xtreme but still retain my central locking with keyfob.
If so can it be done with my nanocom and a 'how to' would be good.
Cheers,
Paul.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

I added the Keyfob and enabled the immobiliser on my 2002 extreme using a nanocom, so the reverse would be true also.
Its in the defender alarm section (when hooked up to a laptop) easier to do it that way than via the nanocom itself. i think you just untick the engine immobiliser..
just out of interest... why would you disable it?
Thanks
Steve
Seems a fair reason! Was just interested thats all...
I have 2 fobs just in case... and i think you can do it from the nanocom... you just have to have patience. The laptop just makes things easier.
The EKA code can be reprogrammed i think via the nanocom, it can on the disco td5 (different alarm) and not looked on the defender yet.. On the disco it can read it too....
Having the immobiliser deactivated... would that effect your insurance? its a requirement in WA? The poor bugger that had my defender had a 3rd party one put on when he got it, but all he needed was a fob.. and the system activating! still i guess you can deactive before travelling cant you?
Hope you get it sorted!
Steve
the T4 has the immobiliser option for the MY03 (and presumably later) spec defender but I cant get the MY02 version to load up....
IT may also be an ECU thing with pre and post NNN ECU's Tombie may know more.

The Alarm system has been used for years it being a lucas as10 alarm... and i think the immobiliser is driven through that... would i be guessing the immobiliser is built into the engine ECU then? if i had access to the nanocom at the mo i would look... but i seem to remember that there are different immobiliser methods in it such as mems etc.. cant remember what i set mine too...
Mines a 2002 with a flashable ecu (as factoy supplied).. and has the immobiliser fully working.. all done with nanocom.. so maybe the t4 would work with 2002 also?
Thanks
Steve
As Steve has mentioned Lucas10AS has been around for ages. You can set the unit to work with the fob and/or the key but not immobilise. The D1's had the 10AS programmed in this way so the volumetric sensors wouldn't arm with the key, but would with the fob. I know Rovacom/Faultmate can do this so I assume the Nanocom can too.
