How do you propose cutting it?

I have a tyre (buggered BFG funnily enough) to remove from a rim I bought and I'm tempted to use the grinder.

Just not sure about the fire risk there.

like the smell of burning rubber......?

if you use the saw....you will need to lubricate the rubber with water......or the blade will burn out......

you can use normal tyre pliers to do it..

a piece of hard card between the jaws of the pliers and the lip of the rim will get it off.

if your going to use the highlift use it in "winch" mode and compress the tyre together.

Tried that and still didn't look like it was protecting the rim enough as the tyreplyers are so smaller jaws.

Doesnt normally work unless youve been spinning the Rim in the rubber,

The boost rims have a "semi lock" in them, If you cant get them apart easily in the first couple of goes your either cutting them off or taking them to a professional tyre shop. Ive seen shovel head bead breakers fail to shift them.

a finely nozzled bottle of lube can help, get the bead moved a little by any means then inject some lube, move to a new point on the tyre and keep working around. Once youve got the lube squeezed through you can get them a lot easier.

Doesn't work, tried it, all I did was bend the threaded rod
