D2 TD5 IMMOBILISED, LOCKED, BROKEN KEY FOB

Hi. My 2000 D2 TD5 is sitting in the driveway, alarmed, immobilised and locked. The key fob has been catastrophically damaged (blade still useable). With pliers I can grip the key blade and unlock the door, but this just sets the alarm off. What are my options? Order and wait for a new key fob to be delivered and programmed? Get a new key cut and have the alarm and immobiliser bypassed so an electronic fob is not needed? Is there another way around it? Thanks. Greg.

You need to bypass the alarm system by using the EKA (Emergency Key Access) code via the drivers door lock.

I assume by reading your post though that you don't know about this.

Contact a LR dealer in the morning & explain the situation to them. Hopefully they'll give you the code over the phone. The entry procedure is in your handbook.

TURNING OFF IMMOBILISER AND ALARM FUNCTIONS?

Thanks. The D2 was a quick sale in a divorce settlement so it didn't come with many accessories (including manual, spare keys etc). Thanks to Lennock Motors Canberra for the EKA code and advice.

Is anyone running their Disco security just on the key? i.e. is it possible to bypass or turn off the electronic alarm and immobiliser components (with one of these Nanocoms?) of the system and just have the key operated central locking? If so, how did you do it?

    thanks. greg.

When day triping with the dog I only lock the D2 with the key.
Sets alarm ect. but this method disables the volumetric censors so internal movment doesn't set off the alarm

A bit of reading for info and a laugh

    Hi Nurk,
Yes you can turn off the immobiliser and and alarm system while retaining the central locking function with a Nanocom.
I have recently done it with my 02 Defender.
In the Alarms section of the Nanocom just read and edit the alarms settings disabling the arm alarm and Immobilise settings by scrolling through the options.
I did mine with a nanocom manual but without a laptop (stand alone mode) and it wasn't that difficult.
If you can get a hold of a nanocom and are having difficulties PM me.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    D2 KEY REFURB

Thanks for the advice. I'll track down a Nanocom.

I followed one of our P38 brothers thread on key fob problems and found this mob on eBay - a refurbed D2 key for $80 + $20 postage! Bargain.
