Does anyone have any pointers on how to stop a hi mount warn winch brake from rusting up when not in use?
the plates rust to the brake shoes on mine - is there something I should great when I service/rebuild it? All suggestions welcome

I thought as much - sat for a couple of months out in the rain and pads rusted to the discs.
Had to take it apart and replace the top gear as had shattered - bearings went and the whole thing broke - luck not any real other damage apart from price of new gear from Gigglepin in UK.
More 4x4 needed then!

When I did my Winch up I had the drum and brake parts Nickel plated, no issues since
