Kick Down Cable 97 disco auto

    Hi every one,

Is there anyone out there in Aulro land that could give me a step by step easiest way to replace a kick down cable for a 97 Disco Auto 3.9. I would really appreciate any help and would like to replace it my self.

    Thanks in Advance

It requires you to drop the sump of the auto to disconnect the old cable and reconnect the new cable, I had the Auto trans mechanic do it while doing the auto trans service, they used a Ford falcon kickdown cable as it was half the price of the Land Rover ZF one, hope this helps, Regards Frank.

    Thanks Frank

    Hi Frank,

Thanks I didn't realize you could use a falcon cable? I've ordered and paid for the Disco one from British off road.....So now I know at least where to take the car to so I can get it installed. Can I ask if you could tell me what you would expect a fair price to pay for instillation???? I'm sure mechanics see me coming being a woman.......LOL

    Thanking you again Fred.....

I would ask the mechanic for a quote, i.e. how much extra time it would take to do it while doing an Auto service, it should not take more than 15 minutes to do during a service, with the pan already off, Regards Frank.
