    LT95 issues

    Hi all,

Go to traffic lights Wednesday, 1st gear ready to take off, slight clunk then no drive forward.......

low range diff lock gives me forward motion...although under slight load can hear groaning and slipping?

Do you think broken axle or transfer case??

    thanks in advance

chain the vehicle back, release the park brake put it in gear with the difflock out and let it try to drive forwards. IT wont but climb under and have a look if one of the shafts is turning you most likely have a snapped axle or torn drive flange on that side

So what happened to High range with Difflock ?
If it was 1 broken axle then High or low with difflock it would move.
Sounds like a center diff cross shaft snapped but doesnt explain why it wouldnt move in High range !
Perhaps you stuffed the Intermediate gear thrusts and the center diff .
Stick it in gear , let the clutch out and see if either tailshaft is spinning , but you aint moving , then its a axle/hub/gear/pinion problem

If it drives in High Range diff lock and its a Stage 1 or Defender my money is on the front RHS axle.
