Yes, wind them in. You get a little better turning circle. Just make sure the tyres don't rub on the arms. I did mine very early after getting it.
The turning circle on my new Puma is worse than the old 99 Defender, and it wasn't real flash. The Puma has the boost pack with alloys which makes the tyres considerably wider than on the Defender. The question is can I crib another degree or two by slightly winding in the stop bolts? There would still be adequate clearance between the tyres and suspension arms. The CV joint doesn't seem to be at its limit of travel - there is still a small gap on the spherical housing. I seem to remember that there was no gap on the Defender. It moved all the way around to the straight section. Does anyone have a Puma on narrow tyres to make a comparison?
Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. I screwed them in one turn. The improvement is relatively minor but it makes a huge difference getting in and out of car parks.
Hey guys, I've got a new 130 dual cab, where are these bolts located please, I'd love to be able to improve the turning circle (even if only slighty).
Cheers Ant
On the inner front of the left and right hubs. Locking nut and bolt 18mm and 19mm spanners needed. Make sure you don't end up letting the tyres rub.

Rick, I was well aware the turning circle was going to be huge (at least compared to the Jimny) but would love to have it resemble something slightly smaller... Maybe an aircraft carrier![]()
that'd be a shock
I regularly jump from the 130 to a GU Patrol ute and back and you make allowances but it can be a pain as the Patrol's turning circle is so good for a vehicle of its size.
Of course it didn't help when I fitted 33" tyres, now it does have the turning circle of an aircraft carrier and I have the stops turned in as far as possible, right to the point of an occasional rub on the radius arms.
It's just slightly different... where I could do a u-turn in the Jimny, I'm flat out turning 90 degrees. But I'm starting to get used to it now.
Just taken dad's GU patrol for a quick run, and it's turning circle about splits the difference between the 130 and the Jimny...![]()
