LED Lights/Blinkers Not flashing
This isn't a Specific Landy question but its for My Landrover.
I have replaced the Headlights with a American Light that has the indicator in the bottom part of the headlight...
And I have replaced the rear taillights with leds also.
They don't flash at all now, just come on and stay on.
Is there a special Flasher I need to buy? Or is the Original Flasher Cactus.
Thanks in Advance
Chad

I think you need a shunt. Check out the other threads under led lights.

sounds like the LEDs are not drawing enough current to warm the flasher unit up there are LED specific flashers available to fix, jaycar etc

The standard flashing unit expects a load in the indicator circuit, created by the standard bulbs. When you replace standard bulbs with LED's, that load is removed, and the indicators either blink really fast, or stay on completely. There are two fixes for this.
1. Put resistors inline in the indicator circuit. This recreates the load normally generated by the bulbs.
2. (preferred) Replace the flasher unit with a flasher unit designed for use with LED bulbs, such as this one...

American headlight assembly???
You do realise if it isnt made for Uk / AU etc that the light beam will project the wrong side and blind drivers?

Won't be driven that much to be honest..
They are a HOT ROD type headlight, Its for my Landrover Rat Rod project.
They were ordered to suit Aus/UK side of the road anyways, the do one specifically for us.
Thanks for the INFO though.

Been there done that.
Just replace the flasher can with one that is specificly designed for LED's. In Australia you can only get the three connection one which is missing the pilot. The pilot is the circuit that is activated when you attach a trailer/van.
You can get a relay out of the UK which is a direct replacement which works out at about $A70 when I priced them.
Note the electronic ones in Australia dont give off a noise when the blinker is used you just get the flashing light.
