    Tyre levers - what size?

    Hi all.
I need to get myself some tyre levers for general use on 15" and 16" wheels

    - What size do you recommend. Small is useless, but can they also be too big for a particular wheel?
    - is there anything particular to look out for or avoid?
    - chrome or black finish - any preferences?

I've never had the problem of the tyre levers being too long except for when it comes time to store them somewhere.

what counts most IMHO is the shapes on the end of them and the profile.

I prefer the flatter ones and the ones that have a profile shape sort of like O==O that flat in the middle and rounded on the sides.

Thanks - I understand what you mean by the profile.

Any hints as to the differences in end shape?

here ya go... my tyre pliers and my older ones.

if you look at the tyre plier bars you'll notice one is a little shorter in the tip but fatter and the other is a little longer and skinnier.

the same applies to the old school ones the hooks are just very slightly different.

Thanks. Given that decent tyre levers were around $50 each at Alltools when I dropped by on the weekend, I'm wondering if I should be looking at something like tyrepliers.
Are they worth the extra money?
