    Oil Pump Cover Bolts

Can someone clarify for me the layout of the oil pump cover bolts in a 3.9 V8 (1989 RRC)? Reassembling the motor now after two years and can't remember why I have 3 Torx/multi thingo headed bolts only. Are the other two conventional hex head bolts?
Also how easy is it to prime the pump with a portable drill and slotted socket?
I read here before that is what most people do and no-one bothers with packing it with vaseline which seems a shame to do to a nice new fully recon engine. I once did the vaseline priming on a Rover 3.5 coupe I had 25 years ago and it worked fine but mates never stopped ribbing me about playing under the car with vaso.
Any tips on a good oil to run it in with - used Castrol GTX3 in it before as is on LPG/petrol?
    Thanks for your advice.

I packed mine with Petroleum Jelly when I had mine apart, seemed simple whilst I had the pump out anyway.

Use a good quality Mineral oil as opposed to using a synthetic oil till say 1500/2000klms, change filter and run your normal oil (synthetic maybe), Regards Frank.

I always prime the pump in the old style dissy driven pumps. Slot the end of a piece of 1/2 inch rod, sleeve it with garden hose and crank away with a good size drill for a couple of minutes. This purges the air out of all the galleries and makes your first start as safe as the next few thousand.
