    Question Cooked motor

    Hi
    I have just cook my disc 1997 300tdi motor Which is an auto I bought a defender 1996 motor 300 which is complete What Do I have to look out for when changing the motors over I thing like wiring or bits that have to be changed over. Any advice would be much appreciated

    tdi-tdi goes pretty easy. if your getting it out of a donor vehicle its easier to get one from another auto vehicle.

    BE DAMN CAREFUL when seperating the TC from the flex plate that you get all the bolts and lock the thing (TC) back in place so it cant come out while you lift the motor out.

    having the TC come out can result in bad things happening up the front end of the box if you arent careful with the re-install of the TC. if it goes wrong you have to droop the box or lift the engine out again.

    Hey Ben
    I am not much chop with engine swap as I now let the mechanics do that but how is the diving these days?
    I used to dive a lot down here and overseas etc.
    Where are all the dive shops also, my old haunt was adelaide skin dive centre and Glenelg dive centre, is that still there.
    You know Tim Miles by any chance, he took me up to Dive Supervisor many moons back and worked for TJM or ARB last I heard.
