also, i checked the power steering fluid and it doesnt look like its really moved... can confirm after a bit more driving....
im starting to think it may be the cv joint.... ohh noooooo thats not good.![]()
hey all.
ok, so i have a leak coming from the axle sort of area.
by the looks of things its a dark greenish colour.
its coming from the axle or steering, i dont know what this is..(rave cd is at home and i wont be there untill friday).
now i did get stuck in water on the weekend at the powerlines.
the leak started after this.
maybe the axle filled with water and over pressure made a seal leak?
i have drawn a crappy diagram to try to explain where its coming from.
i dont know what parts these relate to as i dont have the rave cd at the moment.
i think i have explained as much as i can.
if someone thinks they know, i will happily take a photo with my phone and send it to them.
i will rip the wheel and everything off on friday and inspect... providing that wont trip any computer stuff...
please help!
cheers
jack

Why not whack a photo up here?
Would help you get a diagnosis much more than your "crappy diagram"!![]()

haha yeah, well after some internet browsing i am a bit more certain that its the cv joint.
will take a photo tommorow and try and upload it...
if anyone has a camera phone that they can upload a photo to here for me, that would be awesome. just let me know and ill send it. otherwise will have to wait untill friday...
That would be the outer diff housing seal, about a 30min job to change, but about $50 a seal from LRMake sure you use plenty of degreaser to clean it up well, and take care not to damage the seal on insertion, it must sit firmly against the shoulder.
Here's a pic:
I also have a tutorial in projects somewhere on how to remove the axle/cv assembly.

im fairly certain it must be that, because im sure if it was the cv it would atleast make a noise or vibration or something!
