D2 INLET MANIFOLD STORY CONTINUES
Thanks guys for the help.
The story is (yes chuckle chuckle) I bought the D2 4.0L inlet manifold on ebay. I did not realize until after I placed my bid that what I was bidding on, was just the plenum chamber and throttle body, and hey presto I was the winner.
I have looked around and I have been unlucky in finding a private seller and the wreckers etc only want to sell the whole inlet manifold assembly complete for big bucks.
Triumph Rover will sell me a D2 Bosch inlet manifold plenum etc in kit form for $450.00.
Next I thought I would try Amazon Cannibals landrover wreckers in the US and they have one available for $190.00 (USD) I assume plus postage.
So I am weighing up the facts & costs. $120.00 I have paid for the plenum, plus $250.00 for the manifold and what extras do I need. Am I better off buying the the kit from Triumph Rover and try and sell the plenum to recoup some of my costs? Or do I pursue the manifold from the USA.
If some one out there can advise me what to do otherwise or help I would be delighted to hear from you.
Cheers
for the manifold

It depends what you want to do and what does "in kit form" mean?
If you want to use 14CUX, then you will have to do what I suggested and adapt the 14CUX bits to the Thor. In this case you will probably still need a RRC fuel rail if you want to leave the fuel circuit untouched.
But really all you need is the bare manifold, but it helps to have the Thor heater pipe also. You will need to have the throttle assembly so make sure that is included. It also helps to get the various vent pipes.
If you want to use an aftermarket ECU it would probably help to have the Thor fuel rail and injectors. Be aware that the Thor uses a high fuel pressure and a one way fuel system which would require buying a high pressure pump and in tank regulator setup and modding up a line to the manifold. Probably a Disco 11 tank,if they fit.
Mine came with fuel rail /injectors/IAC/hoses/heater pipe/throttle body but I didn't use anything but the heater pipe and of course throttle body.
