S1 Discovery Automatic Remove and Refit
What's actually involved in removing and refitting an auto transmission from a 300tdi Discovery?
What parts are needed (gaskets, selas, etc)?
Can it be done in the garage on axle stands?
I am thinking about putting in an echange box and wanted to know what is involved.

It can be done on the ground. split the transfer box from gear box before removing gearbox. I've balanced the gear box on a jack but have heard of people using a engine crane through the floor. seals required are transfer input seal, transfer intermediate shaft O rings and O rings for auto cooler pipes.

That's sounds do-able. Any idea of how long it would take to remove?
Also, what is the going rate for an exchange rebuild these days?
Cheers
Adam
