I think that you are a bit paranoid
The fitting it is 20k km old with some hard going and is all Ok
I like more the VDO sensor in the middle of the fitting and not at the end.

Well little bit of an update, the boost gauge is in and working. Lights up and works with the dimmers. Nice bit of kit actually. Just got to get some brass fittings to put the pressure gauge on and then the water temp fitting... More worried about getting these two gauges in and working more so then the oil temp

Recently Fitted VDO oil pressure gauge

I have just finished installing the oil pressure gauge in my Defender.

The parts can be bought from a VDO stockist. I got mine from Ringwood Speedo's on Maroondah Hwy Ringwood.

Here are the images and part numbers for those interested.

Found pressure to be about 350-380kPa when cold and 300Kpa once warmed up and under load. When idling it is about 200-250Kpa when cold and 125-150kpa when warm.

I ran the sender wire along the same path as the existing oil pressure light sender wire.

Took about an hour to install.

So klappers, what sort of boost does it get up to and does it ever pull a vacuum?
