My secondary alternator on my 101 is a 40A Bosch out of a Sigma GE. Last weekend it started to become a bit growlie and on pulling it apart I found the back bearing had failed - also the brushes were quite worn.

I bought new bearings and a new combined regulator/brush unit and soldered it on. I reassembled the unit and installed it back in the 101 but it is not generating any power. It was generating power before I took it out.

Any ideas on what I have stuffed up?
