stuck on the side of the road ,Defender 300tdi

My good lady was driving home tonight on the highway 110km and the defender was cutting out ,no power but the engine kept running.. got in to town to a T junction..and stopped.. I went to get her the engine turns over sounds like it isn't getting any fuel..? ( A guess!!)... nothing flowing out the bottom... replaced the fuel lift pump about 3 months ago due to it leaking ,no worries with restarting it etc.... have no idea when the fuel filter (front left of engine compartment) was changed........The landy was just on the red of the fuel gauge.........To top my wonderful evening off the Subaru L series i picked them up in has green fluid leaking in to both foot-wells from the rear of the AC unit and the battery charge light is illuminated (very faint) on tick over... and i cant get any wine to help me!! ahhhhhhh!!!!!

    Simply out of fuel????
My good Lady managed to do it with her Rangie once on BOTH fuels, she was lucky that the LPG tang had enough to get her 200m up the road under reduced power to a Servo

"HONESTLY,ITS ONLY JUST GONE INTO THE RED"
I hope that its as simple as that to sort!!!
The Suby sounds like a bigger headache!!!!
    GOODLUCK

Better than touching the red on the temp gauge.

I had a bad load of fuel that clogged everything. One final symptom was intermittent start-stop. At the end it'd go fine for a few hundred metres and then fuel starvation and no power. New fuel filter, cleaned out gauze filter on top of lift pump, there also a filter in the inlet to the fuel injection pump.

And after that I replaced the fuel injection pump.

From what I could work out, the diesel was having so much trouble getting to the engine that every time I put my foot on the accelerator the fuel filter would drain of diesel, then the engine would die. Then I'd let it idle and the fuel filter would fill up again and I could go again, and so on.

There's a big screw on the top. Under that is the gauze filter.
