Morning all, would anyone be able to post a few photos of the engine bay of an RRC 3.9 (pre-surpentine belt) showing the layout of power steering pump/alternator mounting brackets and aircon mounting brackets? Manual is no good for this and I'm scratching my head after two years since dissassembly and looking at a bare engine and pile of bolts and brackets!
No pics available but I just reassembled one of these. From memory:
1. Remove dissy for access.
2. Fit bracket to head, the one with a countersunk screw.
3. Fit power steering pump without pulley. Fit all bolts, then pulley, fit belt and tighten.
4. Refit dissy.
5. Fit alternator, tensioner bolts on to water pump. There may be a steady bracket between the alternator front leg and the timing cover. If your car doesn't have one consider making one. It stops the bracket sagging/cracking under load.
Try searching for you engine on google 'images'. You can usually find what you are looking for there. I am sure you will find something to reference by trying this. I did it for my td5 not long ago.
If you are not up to speed with google just do your search the normal way on google and then click 'images' at the top right.
