    TC and hill descents

First of all this isnt a question about hill descent control, because my rig doesnt have it, its about the effects of traction control when going down a steep hill with wallows or ruts in it big enough to lift wheels etc.
When i do in mine, and i need to feather the brake slightly im guessing once a wheel lifts is when the TC cuts in, and then it kind of speeds up?
Similar if going up and you lose traction, as you go to roll back down the brakes dont work for a split second and u gain speed. I saw a video of a defender on youtube a while back which flopped it, backwards down a hill which looked like the same thing happened to him.....just with a worse outcome!
Have any of you fellas ever wired in a switch so you can switch off the TC for downhills etc?

What model Defender? Td5 you can turn it off on starting, do a search on the forum and you should find it. Haven't tried it on the Puma so can't tell if it works on it too. But then in the Puma if you drop it in low 1 you don't do anything fast so it's not an issue.

Hi mate, its an 01 TD5 so not as low geared as your Puma, plus running slightly larger tyres which would also not help. I have heard of the turning it off with the brake pump technique but i was more thinking for something that you could just turn on off like a switch....instead of pulling the fuse.
