A Thor in my side.
I received my D2 Thor manifild and D2 fuel rail yesterday from the USA. It took a week to get here after buying it on ebay. Very quick I thought.
So I have started puting it together looking at all the bits of mods I have to do to fit it to my D1 engine (as PhilipA pointed out)
I want to get as much done as possible before taking my disco off the road and minimising the time it is off the road.
So far so good with cables and hoses etc. I got and old fuel injector that I had and tried to fit it. Into the fuel rail no problem, but into the inlet manifold hole, no fit. The sholder of the injector is too big.
Now I have either picked the wrong injector out of the used bits bin, or the Thor manifold being Bosch uses different injectors.
Now please please Philip A or some one tell me that I am a dumb b***** and I have picked up the wrong injector. The latter, I even hate to think of it, D2's use different fuiel injectors and I need to buy new injectors. The one's currently fitted to my 3.9 are new and have only done about 20000k. That definately would be an expensive exercise, one that I did not plan on.

Thors use a shorter injector than a 3.9 so the Thor rail position is incorrect for 14CUX injectors. That is another reason to use a 14CUX rail.
In any case the Thor "green" injectors flow rate is less than 14CUX at the 14CUX line pressure. Sorry I assumed that you would use Thor injectors if you used a Thor rail.
Regards Philip A
PS the Oring sizes are the same .
