Under car wash

Years ago I made a extra large version of a standard autobarn type car ramp its about 600mm high. I take this with me to the local high pressure car wash drive one wheel up on it, get strange looks from the other customers and blast of the underside of the car quite well.

Take the easy way out. Don't wash it. Leave it dirty and you won't notice the dings scratches etc.

Then you pay for it with rapid increase of rust. The mud holds water, salts, and various other chemical compounds that make for perfect conditions for rust.

people actually use those staun things, i got one from my wifey, took it back the next day, bought a Karcher, so much better, and uses heaps less water and did ten times a better job:(

I have a habit of driving through the nearby river a few times after coming off the beach or returning from a muddy trip. At the crossing its about 4-500mm deep (when not in flood) and does a great job of cleaning up the underbody.
