    TD5 Exhaust Manifold

OK - need some help if you please........

While waiting for an "up dated" ECU to arrive - I removed the EGR rubbish and put it all back together with a home made blanking plate kit complete with EGT port and with a lot of modifications - ie ...utilised the old EGR modulator (Yes it looks stock but is SNAFU)....was ready to re-install

While I was waiting for the ECU.....I had a thought - "Why not mod the exhaust manifold to stop the heat stress cracks" while I have the car immobilised??

So I've got the Turbo and pipe work off leaving a great open space work area...(Photos to come).......And while there, I had another 'brain drain" - "Why not fit a oil pressure manifold so a future EMS2 gauge can be installed...?" - which I did!

Now here's the big BUT!! .............

I can't get the bloody exhaust manifold off for love or money . The manifold is loosened off and free as a bird but snags on the A/C housing by a 'poof-teenth'.

I'm loath to loosen off the belt tension and move the A/C compressor a 'poof-teenth' so I can get the manifold off....which will result in a major re-tension of belts etc, etc... so need your expert help......

How can I get the bloody manifold off???I've jiggled, turned, moved, and sworn at it yet it's just beyond freedom;;;; Please tell me I don't have to remove the A/C unit
